You Are The Average Of The 5 People You Hang Out With Most
Think about the people you associate with and who you spend the majority of your time with.
Who are they? What do they do for work? What do they spend their time, effort and money on?
It's very likely that you all share common traits, viewpoints and exhibit similar habits.
This is because you are the average of those 5 people.
You aren't all the same — but you all share some commonalities.
Reflect on those people for a moment…
Now, this next part isn't about judgement or prejudice.
It is about reality.
What is the average body shape and size of those five people?
What is the general way of thinking or mindset?
What are the goals and ambitions you are all working towards?
What habits and routines do you all exhibit?
What type of food and drinks do you consume?
What does a standard week of exercise look like?
I'm sure there will be some differences from person 1 to person 5. This is normal.
What you may also notice and pick up on are certain trends.
"We all like going out for a drink on Friday night".
"We don't do as much exercise as we probably should".
"We all tend to do our work and not mingle with others in the office".
This is why it's so important to associate and hang around people who are on the same (or similar) journey to you.
If you're trying to watch what you eat and you hang out with people who always eat out and order junk food, before long, you'll be tempted to join them.
You must join a group who want more from their body and life so that they can lift you up, not drag you down.
Positivity breeds more positivity.
Negativity begets more negativity.
Whatever traits and habits you want to adopt, you need to surround yourself with others who do them. So you can become part of the group where that is the normal behaviour.
Otherwise, it's going to be a constant uphill battle of trying to fix or change other people's negative actions and habits.
Don't keep swimming against the current.
Join a group where the current is going the direction you want to go and it'll be much smoother sailing.
