Random Thoughts Pt. 8

It's been about 10 months since I last released a 'random thoughts' article.

So I thought it could be a nice way for me to write down some musings and thoughts about what has been on my mind lately.

If you have been reading our more informative articles, perhaps this can serve as a way for you to take a look at the broader side of things, and let the nutrition and training side of things take a back seat.

Not for long, though :)

They'll be back next week.

1) Attention to detail says a lot about you as a person

We are currently going through the stage of having our website upgraded (it's coming, SOON!) and recently had a phone call with our web designer.

Now this wasn't a quick, 5 min speel of what's been done. It was so much more.

The call lasted 82 minutes!

Who does that?

The job he has done thus far has been exceptional!

We have received ongoing updates of where things are travelling, expected progress and overall, has been a very thorough and pleasant experience.

Something we can relate to, very well!

When people just skim over ideas, topics or work, it doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence.

This tells me that they aren't interested in quality. Whether this be in customer service, delivery of a product, or just with the way they undergo their work.

The more thorough someone is, the more serious they are about holding a high standard or following through with actions. Whatever the task at hand.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

2) YOU WON'T ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT DAY, WHICH IS OK

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A MIXED BAG FOR ME, PERSONALLY.

I had some wins, some losses and just a downright crappy day in the middle. And I'm sure you've had the same.

The key thing to remember is that these happen to everyone, from time to time.

What you need to try and focus on, when times are tough, is the positive stuff going on in your life.

This beautiful thing called life will throw curve balls at you every day!

It can help to build resilience and force you to do some problem solving to overcome these hard experiences, though.

And with that, you will end up becoming a stronger man/woman!

Let's be honest, it's not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. (sorry, Sponge-Bob)

But, we don't have to accept all the negatives.

Which brings us to the third random thought...

3) Life is short, be grateful for what you have

It's super easy to start complaining about what we don't have.

You know, the negatives, the frustrations that we are being faced with.

That stuff is easy!

But when was the last time you flipped it and reversed it (any Missy Elliot fans?).

Are you grateful for everything that is already going on in your life?

Just this week I sat down, for about half an hour and wrote down a list of 50 (Yes! Five, zero) things that I was grateful for.

I even sent a few family members a text saying how much I appreciate them.

And you know what? It felt great!!!

This drill has been advised to me before, via podcasts, but I hadn't actually ever taken the time to sit down and complete it.

Some people recommend a daily gratitude journal and others recommend a list, which was the case with my situation.

Fremantle Personal Training

My advice to you, give it a go.

No music. No phone. No distractions.

Just sit there, for as long as you need and write a list of 20 (minimum) things that you are grateful for.

You will soon realise that your life is pretty damn good!

I'M GOING TO WRAP UP THE ARTICLE ON THAT POSITIVE NOTE.

Remember, you are unique. You are awesome and you can choose to live a happy, positive life.

Until next time,

Jesse
