The Two Types Of Physical Pain

There are two types of physical pain.

The first comes from neglecting your body by letting yourself go, and being in pain from your current physical state.

Doing simple things such as daily tasks, now require a lot of effort. Even the smallest amount of exercise is now difficult. Everything feels a lot harder than it should.

So you are left in a state of pain about where you’re at, and how you look and feel.

  • Being overweight and constantly in a state of unhappiness because of it.

  • Dragging around excess, dead weight and having sore, achy joints.

  • A lack of physical conditioning causes you to be out of puff walking up your driveway, or climbing a short flight of stairs.

  • The feeling of being inadequate and insecure when you put your clothes on.

That is one type of pain you might experience.

The feelings and emotions of "I'm not good enough", or "how did this happen", or “why is this so hard” play a constant loop in your head.

It's real. It's depressing. It's uncomfortable as hell.

This pain is a result of putting other activities or tasks ahead of your body.

That’s precisely why your health, fitness and body have deteriorated.

It is no longer a priority.

Other things have become more important to you.

“We make time for what we truly value. We build habits and routines around the things that really matter to us.

If that sounds like where you're at, read on.

There is a solution.

The second type of pain you might feel is based on positive daily actions.

Where you decide to drag yourself out of bed and go for a walk, even though you’d prefer to stay tucked in bed.

You don't want to. But you do it anyway.

It's the decision to eat a big ass salad instead of the hot, salty, delicious fries with your lunch.

The feeling of not being able to lift any more weight, or do another rep at the gym because your arms feel like they're about to fall off.

Because you pushed yourself to your threshold.

When you turn off Netflix and get yourself to bed so you can wake up feeling refreshed, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

This pain is positive and constructive for your mind and body.

In the moment, you feel pain and discomfort.

But once it's said and done, you feel a sense of pride.

You start feeling good about yourself.

You develop a sense of satisfaction.

  • Achievement

  • Accomplishment

  • Self-esteem

  • Confidence

  • Victory

You develop all the character traits you aspire to have because you chose the right path.

You chose a specific type of pain.

Make no mistake, it was still hard, and painful.

But it serves your longer term goals so much more.

Those are your two options.

  1. The pain of letting your health, fitness and body slip away into the abyss — feeling, looking and knowing you are moving further away from the goals you have and where you could be.

  2. The temporary pain to do what’s necessary — which ultimately sets you up for success. Reaching those lofty goals you set and having the confidence because you pushed through the initial pain and discomfort.

We all experience, go through and feel pain. All of us!

It’s the type of pain which determines where you end up in life…

Where do YOU want to end up?

It’s time. Pick your pain.
