Member Of The Month (July)
July was a great month for training on a personal level for a lot of our clients, but also for the whole Fulla SC team.
We got together for a team training event one Sunday, in preparation for the obstacle course event True Grit, which some of the team will be participating in, in October.
On a more individual level, there were some stand-out performers who have been turning up to their sessions regularly, putting in the work and getting great results to go with it.
Which brings me to the purpose of today's article. It's that time where I announce the newest Member Of The Month.
Introducing the winner for the month of July, Jim Simpson.
Jim is someone who I really enjoy working with, as he always comes in for his sessions with a smile on his face and a "can-do" attitude, regardless of the type of day he's just had at work.
One of the biggest improvements that I have noticed in Jim is his positive shift in mindset. He now tackles each exercise head on and prepares himself mentally for the end of his session.
There's always a bit of banter and a few laughs between us, especially as I explain to him his Workout Of the Day (WOD).
"Jim, today's WOD is really simple."
Jim knows that it won't be easy. But he now embraces, and dare I say, relishes the challenge!
Before Jim started working with me, he didn't really venture or step out into the weights area, but now, he loves it.
His technique across all the exercises which we have done has improved, along with his strength, control of the weights along with an increase in lean muscle mass. It's a testament to Jim's consistency and preparedness to do the work required.
Training doesn't have to be complicated, but it does need to challenge you. Simple, not easy.
I sat down and did a short interview with Jim about his training experience with us so far. You can read that below;
Q1- WHEN DID YOU FIRST START TRAINING WITH FULLA SC (MONTH/YEAR)?
A- I started training with Fulla SC in January 2018.
Q2- WHAT KEEPS BRINGING YOU BACK?
A- Mainly because I am seeing the benefits of the training. But also because Jesse encourages and motivates me in a fun environment.
Q3- WHAT RESULTS HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR?
A- I have lost about 7Kg and I am fitter, which I have been able to track via the programs that Jesse has put in, including the (12-wk) rowing program. I have also noticed a positive difference in my body shape.
Q4- WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 3 MONTHS (IN TERMS OF RESULTS)?
A- I'd like to lose a few more kg's, build more strength and tighten my diet a bit.
Q5- WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE SERVICES PROVIDED AT FULLA SC?
A- It’s fun, effective and to coin a phrase, “It’s simple, not easy”.
Jim is soon to jet off to the UK for a holiday, so I think it is fitting for him to receive this award after months of hard work and thousands of reps in the gym.
He can enjoy some well-earned downtime with his family when he gets over there and then pick up where he left off, on his return.
Enjoying the process of getting results is one of the main items which I have noticed Jim take on board during his time with us.
The program he is on allows him to make consistent progress over a 4-wk period along with some small tweaks to his diet is what has seen him achieve what he has, notably the gradual weight loss of 7kg's.
For anyone wanting to know what "the secret" of getting results in the gym is, it's just about putting in consistent work.
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to aim for better. That's what Jim has done and it's been working really well for him.
Well done and a huge congratulations for your hard work, Jim -- you've earned it!
Until next time,
Keep training hard.
