7 Reasons why you're overweight...and what you can do about it.
Weight-loss is the most common fitness goal there is.
I'm sure either yourself, or someone you know has, at some point in time, wanted to lose some amount of weight.
But far too many people don't understand why they are overweight in the first place, or simply don't know what they need to do to get the weight off.
This article will be your starting point to understand where you are going wrong, but also provide you with solutions on how you can go about putting things right!
When it comes to losing weight, there is one underlying rule - calories dictate your weight.
If you eat too many calories p/day, you will gain weight.
If you consume less than your body requires to function, you will lose weight.
That is a simple explanation of weight-loss and weight-gain, but it happens to be the reason your weight fluctuates up or down.
Below, I have outlined 7 reasons that lead to incremental weight-gain and being overweight - but more importantly, you have solutions to those problems.
Problem #1- You eat too much
Solution- Eat less than you currently do.
Problem #2- You eat too many calorie-dense foods
Solution- Eat more nutrient-dense foods instead. Things like vegetables, fruit and meats, just to name a few.
Problem #3- You drink calorie beverages
Solution- Keep drinks to water, tea and coffee.
Problem #4- You don't put your fork down
Solution- Put your fork down between mouthfuls and savour your food.
Problem #5- You eat very fast
Solution- Eat slowly and enjoy each meal.
Problem #6- You eat mindlessly
Solution- Learn and practice mindful eating on a daily basis.
Problem #7- You don't believe you can lose weight
Answer- Believe that you can lose weight and you will do the required work to make it happen.
I'd love to hear from you and get your thoughts? Do you agree/disagree?
Personally, I believe that #7 is the biggest contributing factor - aside from total calorie intake - that people fail to lose weight and keep it off.
They don't believe that they can do it and make it last.
Do you believe in yourself and your ability to lose that unwanted extra weight?
"Change your mindset, change your life".
Until next time,
Take charge of your food.
